Ho Ho Holy Blackout
A downloadable game
Overview
Ho Ho Holy Blackout is a Christmas-themed card game designed for 3-6 players.
The game centers around organizing a Christmas celebration in a house where each player must connect their devices to the house's power grid, which has a limited capacity measured in watts (W). However, caution is crucial: the House possesses a finite wattage. If players connect devices that collectively require more wattage than the House can supply, a blackout occurs, and the game ends.
Gameplay
Players choose characters with unique devices (500W, 300W, 100W) and start with device cards plus three action or power cards. The goal is to connect devices to the electricity box (starting at 200W per player) without overloading it. On a turn, play up to two cards (one action and one device/power) and optionally discard one. After playing, draw back up to six hand cards.
Connect devices by placing a minimum number of power cards between them and the electricity box: 1 for 100W, 3 for 300W, and 5 for 500W devices. Action cards have various effects; special ones can be played anytime by discarding.
The main objective is for each character to safely connect their 3 devices to the power grid in order to win. A special action card turns a player into a saboteur, aiming to trigger a blackout.
